SUMMARY:
We are selling a complete rolling chassis for a solar powered car. The chassis was designed by David M. Caditz, Ph.D. and fabricated by Teklam (Corona, CA) and Norman Williams Prototype (Bozeman, MT). It is a race-proven design, lightweight, and extremely strong.

These are photos of the complete solar car and the rolling chassis in race ready condition. The car carried a bank of 8 lead acid batteries on a 1,250 mile cross-country solar car race. (Body, solar array and batteries not included!)

FRAME:
Frame is a hybrid construction composed of a 2.0 in. carbon fiber/nomex 'pan' (12 plies of 6 mil unidirectional carbon over 1.9 in. 3 lb. density nomex honeycomb) and a 1.0 in. o.d. aircraft steel tubular sub-frame. Steel sub-frame is attached using machined aluminum mounts bonded and bolted to carbon pan. Frame is 8' 10" length x 2' 8" width and weighs approximately 60 lbs (not including suspension components).

FRONT SUSPENSION:
Front suspension is a double A-arm design with adjustable coil over shock. Stainless steel rod ends. Weight 8.8 lbs. per side.

REAR SUSPENSION & MOTOR:
Rear suspension is an aluminum swing arm with coil over shock. (Note: drive chain is not installed in photo.) Weight 12.4 lbs.

MFM/Unitrode high-efficiency brushless DC motor with custom machined aluminum integrated heat sink housing. Chain drive. Weight: 23.6 lbs.

UPRIGHTS,
Custom machined hard anodized aluminum uprights. Designed for optimal steering geometry (Camber, caster, Ackermann). Weight < 1.0 lb.

HUBS, BRAKES:
Custom machined hard anodized aluminum quick-change, self-aligning hub assemblies. Hydraulic disk brakes. Weight: 6.5 lbs. per side.
